Excellent location, close to downtown, 2 minute walk to the metro, one metro stop from the main train station. Outstanding staff, drop dead gorgeous reception girl. Big room space. Good value for the money, especially in Prague where hotels are ridiculously overpriced.
Rooms, though huge, are a little basic in equipment. Breakfast could have been a bit wider in selection, but the basics are served.
Great location, and beautiful courtyard to look out on, sit in. Excellent value for money. Helpful staff.
Some staff had a little difficulty with English. We had to ask for a kettle and cups for the room to make tea/coffee - the hotel blurb said it was supplied but wasn't there when we arrioved.
The location and the metro just under the hotel
I would say that we were expecting something better according to the previous reviews: some rooms on the ground floor had mold on the walls and they were humid, the furniture was quite old or however of low quality and not good combined together, the breakfast was not as good as expected, the first evening hot water was not available in the suite and no prompt solution was provided by the reception (then we recognized from ourself that the boiler was just switched off, nobody knows why.....)
The hotel is located just outside The National Museum, around the corner from Wenceslas Square, steps away from The Metro and less than a 10minute walk to the main train station. The people at the front desk were always courteous. Our room, on the ground floor, was spacious and clean. It featured a mini fridge to hold our food and drinks. We could feel the very slight rumble of the Metro beneath us, but it put us to sleep. We felt safe because at night there were security lights above the rooms and we noticed that the local police were in the building behind the hotel. Breakfast was simple, but filling featuring eggs, meats, cheese and cereal, etc. There was hot tea and an espresso-cappuccino maker, which my husband made great use of every morning. We would stay here again.
There wasn't a tea kettle in the room due to the fact that they were a fire hazard, according to the front desk clerk. So that information needs to be updated on the websites. The last night of our stay, our toilet kept 'running' every half hour or so, but since we were leaving the next day, it wasn't a big deal. Unfortunately, when we were getting ready to leave we noticed that there was a time change on the t.v. and my husband's Blackberry and the time sprang forward an hour, a detail the front desk should have told us. We were scrambling to check out so we wouldn't miss our flight back to NYC. The front desk clerk reassured us that we would make our flight. Public transit was great and we made it to the airport on time.
Location and the nice lady who looks over breakfast.
Mold mold mold - Unbelievable, half of the left wall in the shower stall was mold. Staff did not even know basic English and I had problems checking out when the staff at reception didn't even know if (!) and how to charge my credit card.
Simple hotel, nice breakfast...
For its price it was maybe a little too simple...small bed.
Very good located. The room is spacious, but simple. It's like a family hotel with very cute garden.
The shower gel filled with great percent of water. No changing of towels.
Our room was on the terrace at the rear of the hotel and was very quiet, Great location at the top of Wensleslas Square,
Convenient location, helpful staff, clean room.
Let's be frank, this is not a 5star hotel nor should you be expecting it to be. Beds are okay, showers are hot, rooms are clean, breakfast is good, desk staff are helpful and speak English. For the price no one can complain.
Location and Availability. Quiet yet central.
Aircon was broken in room and when mentioned to the staff it was just shrugged off.
It was convenient to both train and sights. Breakfast was very satisfying.
Rooms are basic but have what's needed.
The main advantage is location in the centre of the city next to the National Museum, no need to use public transport to reach sightseeings. The breakfast was also very good.
Ants in the room, a bit disgusting when they stroll along the bed, along your belonings, get into your bags. And there was such a hairdryer that you could burn not only your hair but also all your room, better to take your own if possible.
Nice location in the centre of the city.
Our room was described as a suite but it had nothing to do with a suite. It was a primitive room that had nothing more than beds and a cupboard. The room was said to be modernly furnished but I guess there is a discrepancy in the way I understand 'modern' and they do.It was dirty ( stain and spiderwebs on the walls), so was the bathroom. Wifi- was not working. All in all - I would never recommend the hotel to anyone.
I really liked this hotel. It has a good location, very friendly staff and nice apartments.
Good location near the National Museum/Wenceslas Square and right around the corner from Metro line a (which gives easy access to the rest of the city), 5min walk to main train station (Hlavni Nadrazi) for easy day trips, it's a 15min walk to Old Town (the main tourist sites are all walkable from the hotel); good breakfast of cold cuts, cheeses, frankfurters, scrambled eggs, breads, yogurts; 24hr reception; room was large with a walk-in closet and pull-out sofa; good value at about 25eu per night (although bill is paid in czk); ensuite bathroom; the garden that the rooms face is very tranquil; quiet at all times (I think all of the rooms face the courtyard/garden, rather than street); clean
It's plain and a bit ascetic; it feels more like a pension than a real hotel (but at the rate they charge, I think it's fine since the room was comfortable). The staff was courteous but not particularly helpful or warm (one of them told me it's a 15min walk to the train station -- in reality, it was closer to 5min). The bathroom was clearly renovated, and has one of those handheld sprays in the tub, but the hook for setting it was mounted a few inches above the tub -- this made it impossible to stand under the shower without having to hold the spray with one hand at all times, which was inconvenient and strange. There was one clear plastic cup provided at the sink throughout the stay. Towels were scratchy.
